The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its Creative Industries Development Office, successfully wrapped up the second batch of the Malikhaing Pinoy Online Content Creation Class last July 11, 2025, in Parañaque.
Held from July 7 to 11, this five-day training equipped 30 selected scholars with essential skills, knowledge, and tools to thrive in the fast-evolving world of digital storytelling.
This initiative is part of DTI’s post-competition support for the Young Creatives Challenge (YC2) Season 2, particularly for the Online Content Creation category. It also aligns with the goals of Republic Act No. 11904, or the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act, which seeks to empower Filipino creatives and strengthen the country’s creative economy.

The training featured lectures and workshops led by highly respected mentors and industry experts, including Directors Leo Martinez, Raymond Red, Mel Bacani III, Ricky Orellana, Jr., and Jolevs Domingo, as well as Screenwriter Senen Dimaguila, Jr. Scholars also gained insights from resource speakers such as Atty. Exequiel Valerio of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, Ms. Elli May Malabayabas of the Small Business Corporation, and representatives from the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Creator and Influencer Council of the Philippines.
Participants underwent comprehensive training on storytelling, filming, editing, and entrepreneurial practices. The program culminated with the creation of a two-minute original video project inspired by timeless Filipino proverbs or salawikain, a testament to their creativity and their ability to reflect Filipino values through digital media.

The Philippines’ vibrant online content creation community continues to grow, and the DTI remains steadfast in nurturing the next generation of digital storytellers. Through initiatives like the Malikhaing Pinoy Program, the agency aims to spotlight Filipino talent, preserve cultural heritage, and advance the Philippines’ artistic and cultural progress.
As the Filipino creator community flourishes, Blogapalooza continues to support initiatives like this by helping bridge creators and brands, and opening up even more opportunities for collaboration and growth. Together with programs like Malikhaing Pinoy, we’re shaping a future where creators can turn their passions into sustainable careers while sharing stories that inspire the world.
