“Akong babaeng hindi man mapanlinlang sa dama at awa. Akong babaeng sumusunod lamang sa katwang at ama.”
These are the words of Mariana, a character that will soon come alive through the artistry of Rozel Basilio in Si Josefino at ang Estatwa, directed by Ingrid Joyce and written by Francis Panes.
For many, Rozel is known as a lifestyle content creator, but beyond the digital space lies her first love: acting. Stepping back on stage reignites a spark in her journey, one that brings her immeasurable joy and reminds her, and us, of the power of performance. Acting has always been where her passion runs deepest, and this role as Mariana marks a meaningful return to that creative fire.
In this year’s Shorts and Briefs by Night, Rozel joins fellow first-timers and new artists in a festival that dares to tell bold, intimate, and unexpected stories. Featuring six short plays that push boundaries and reveal truths often left unspoken, the experience is strictly for audiences 18 and above—raw, unapologetic, and unforgettable. This is about celebrating her return to the craft that gives her life and witnessing an artist who brings honesty, depth, and soul to the stage.

The festival runs from September 20 to October 5, 2025, with shows at 2 PM and 7:30 PM at Cafe Shylo, Pasig. Tickets are priced at ₱750, inclusive of a free drink, and one ticket lets you experience all six plays. To secure your seat, simply message 09194873983 on Viber.
Be there, and see Rozel Basilio as Mariana, a performance that not only marks her return to acting, but also a new chapter in her journey as an artist.
